CHOICE

Organizational and program design for innovation in human rights advocacy

CHOICE is a global non-profit organization that strengthens young people’s capacity on leadership and human rights advocacy. To prepare the organization and her partners for systemic shifts I piloted new ways of working in successive waves of experimentation and learning. This included monthly “Innovation Thursdays”, Design Thinking Bootcamps, and co-created advocacy strategies.

As part of CHOICE’s new approach to human rights advocacy, I designed the interactive event Ideate Youth — the first-ever event at the United Nations to use design thinking to move from dialogue to action on the youth rights agenda. Youth activists and diplomats used their hearts, hands, and heads to rapidly design and prototype solutions for youth participation in the UN Human Rights Council.
